Toxins enter the body through food, air, and water. They are also generated by the body as a result of normal metabolic processing.  Thee best approach to health is to reduce the toxic load.

The outside air is filled with industrial waste, toxic automobile exhaust, and residues of pesticides, herbicides, and building materials.

The inside air is filled with toxins too, and some say that the inside air is more dangerous than the outside. That certainly may be true, and rather than attempting to prove or disprove that theory, it’s safer to reduce the toxic load both inside and out.

Toxins enter the body through food, air, and water. They are also generated by the body as a result of normal metabolic processing. Digestion, breathing, adrenal fight/flight response, and brain function all generate metabolic waste.

In fact, every cell in the body generates metabolic waste which is removed daily during sleep. Waste products diffuse into the bloodstream from the tissues and capillaries and are then eliminated from the bloodstream by the liver, kidneys, and lungs.

When the toxic load exceeds the body’s ability to eliminate toxins, dysfunction and disease can develop as a result of toxic exposure.

Donna Kasuska, BSCHE, Chemical Engineering: Detoxify Your Life

Donna Kasuska - ChemConscious 200x200Donna Kasuska, founder and CEO of ChemConscious, Inc. and a chemical engineer with many years of experience was on a mission to create a healthier world. She spoke and wrote passionately about the hidden hazards of chemicals in our environment. She was a dear friend, a client, and a teacher to me.

Unfortunately, her life ended prematurely in May of 2016 when she lost her battle to cancer. We mourn her death and celebrate her life and the major contribution she made to making the world a safer place. She was herself exposed to a lot of the toxins and hazards that she educated us about, as a chemical engineer working in the chemical plants she was trying to protect. She was an unsuspecting consumer of the everyday toxic home, personal care, and food products until she learned that many of the chemicals in the products she was using were the same as or similar to those from which she was attempting to keep chemical plants safe.

Donna was an excellent speaker, and we will miss her. Enjoy this program and pay tribute to Donna.

Action Plan

#1: Teach your clients how to minimize their toxic exposure.

Environmental Clean-Up: This document is derived from the transcript of a talk I did on environmental toxins and how to clean up the home and workplace environment. It’s a great resource you can use to give your clients an understanding of what’s needed to make permanent changes that minimize their toxic exposures.

#2: Suggest your clients complete an inventory of their current toxic exposures.

Toxic Product Inventory: This document will help identify toxic products in the environment. It includes a plan for phasing out undesirable products. Use the list of toxic chemicals and cosmetics to help make better choices.

#3: Instruct your clients to pick one item on the Toxic Product Inventory list to replace with a healthier alternative.

It can be overwhelming and costly to try and change all the toxic products your clients use overnight. To get them started, have them pick one item each week on the Toxic Product Inventory list to replace with a healthier alternative.

#4: Suggest they proceed to replace the toxic products in their environment with natural alternatives at their own pace.

Recommend that they work through the Toxic Product Inventory list at their own pace, replacing the toxic products in their environment, one by one, with natural alternatives.
