INE learning objectivesAs you work through the materials, your goals by the end will be to:

  • Understand the physiology and function of the thyroid gland and its impact upon overall client hormone balance.
  • Understand the role of the HPAT axis and its effect upon thyroid function.
  • Become familiar with thyroid hormones (TSH, T3, T4, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3) and the impact they have on your clients’ health.
  • Understand how to interpret client labs to aid in determining clients’ overall thyroid function status.
  • Understand and be able to recognize the difference between and symptoms of:  hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, auto-immune thyroid conditions, and sub-clinical thyroid conditions.
  • Explain and understand the role of iodine and other important nutrients in achieving optimal thyroid health.  Help clients to know how to test for and identify these nutritional deficiencies.
  • Be familiar with the patterns of thyroid dysfunction and the symptoms of each.
  • Understand major symptom differentiations between fatigue caused by hypo-thyroid tendency vs. hypo-adrenal tendency.
  • Understand how to create a customized thyroid rebalancing protocol for your clients using the appropriate supplements and/or herbs.
