INE Time for ActionUse the list below to put your learning into action.

Action Steps:

  1. Do as much of the physical exam on yourself as possible.  Get help where needed.  This will familiarize yourself with the components so you can guide others to do the exam for themselves.
  2. Practice doing or guiding people to do the physical exam on themselves, especially if your scope of practice doesn’t allow you to touch people or if you consult with people mainly on the phone.  Most of the exam and bodily function components can be completed by the client.  You may want to consider or encourage using video chat or Skype.
  3. Familiarize yourself with the physical exam interpretation resources.  Study and make dates with colleagues within NEPT to interpret the exam findings with each other.
  4. Study, practice, and always print out your cheat sheets and have them available.  The more you use the interpretation pages, the more second nature it all becomes.
