Confirm and check as complete if you've read and understood objectives.

INE learning objectivesAs you work through the materials, your goals by the end will be to:

  • Define and understand Nutrigenomics and Epigenetics, so that you can explain to your clients how genetics factors can be influenced either positively or negatively by a client’s diet and lifestyle choices.
  • Be familiar with the meaning of the acronym “SNP – Single Nucleotide Polymorphism”, so that you know which individual SNPs are potential factors to consider when deciding on a particular supplement or dietary choice for your clients.
  • Know which specific SNPs can affect detoxification, methylation, sulfation, and neurotransmitter pathways, so you can explain to your clients the factors that might contribute to symptoms they are experiencing in these areas.
  • Know the different methods and laboratories available for ordering genetic testing, and how to order the tests, so that you can be a resource to your clients in the area of nutrigenomics.
  • Feel comfortable analyzing clients’ genetic testing results, and be able to help your clients to interpret them, using a variety of learning tools and resources.
  • Understand the process of methylation, and why methyl donors and folate are important to many systems in the body, so you can help your clients to find the most effective foods or supplements, especially containing B vitamins.
  • Get to the root cause of many complex cases by digging deeper into genetic propensities for dysfunction or dis-ease, so that your clients can finally find relief from symptoms that may have been plaguing them for year.
  • Know the foods and supplements to recommend for clients with particular SNPs in order to help ease your clients’ symptoms and help recover their energy and vitality.
