INE learning objectivesAs you work through the materials, your goals by the end will be to:

  • Understand the presenting client complaints of adrenal dysfunction.
  • Understand the role(s) of chronic physical, mental, environmental, and food stress in adrenal dysfunction.
  • Understand the effects of cortisol upon hormones, inflammation, musculosketetal tissue, neurology, metabolism, blood sugar, and energy.
  • Be able to explain the “pregnenolone steal” and how it can affect reproductive hormones and libido.
  • Understand the symptoms of hyper-adrenal function/tendency vs. hypo-adrenal function/tendency (and differences between the two).
  • Be able to identify the physical exam signs of adrenal dysfunction.
  • Be familiar with at-home testing options for adrenal function.
  • Know which lab tests are appropriate for assessing adrenal function and how to order the tests for clients.
  • Understand how to interpret various saliva or blood tests for adrenal function and be able to recognize markers for each of the 4 stages of adrenal fatigue.
  • Identify nutrients, herbs, supplements, and lifestyle protocols to rebalance and optimize client adrenal function and support each of the 4 stages of adrenal fatigue.
